As mentioned earlier, Sanjay is a very intelligent man and a great diplomat!!  

He has been narrating the actions from Kurukshetra with subtle messages to the King.  

Keeping in line with his job description - since he did not have the authority to tell the King what to do.  

One of the subtle message here is Sanjay taking the names of Bhishma and Drona.  He could have simply said that the Chariot was placed in the middle of both armies.  

But his thought is by taking the names of these great warriors and the possibility of their death, King Dhritarashtra would call for a ceasefire.
